mobiles ringing during Mass is rude

Today while having anticipated Catholic Mass the cellular phone of the man beside me rang. It was so loud that the reader for the Prayers of the Faithful had to pause. The mobile was noisy when it rang and also when it was turned off. Other people had dissapointed faces as they were disturbed by the sound.

I had the knee jerk reaction of movie away from the man with the ringing phone.
